Valuations and Pricing
How do I get a valuation for my car?
Enter your registration number on our free valuation page and confirm a few details about your vehicle. Our system pulls your car’s data from DVLA records and uses real-time market pricing to generate an instant quote. There is no obligation and no cost involved.
How is the valuation calculated?
We use live market data combined with your vehicle’s age, mileage, condition, service history, and current demand for that make and model. Our valuations reflect what trade buyers are genuinely paying right now, not inflated guide prices.
Is the online valuation the final price?
In most cases, yes. The price you see online is confirmed during a brief inspection at collection. The only reason a price would change is if the vehicle’s condition differs significantly from what was described. If that happens, you are under no obligation to accept a revised offer.
How long is my quote valid?
Your quote is held for four days from the date it is generated. If you need longer, simply request a new valuation. Market values can shift, so a fresh quote ensures you always see the most accurate price.
Will I get more selling privately?
Possibly, but private sales come with advertising costs, time spent fielding enquiries, arranging test drives, and the risk of no-shows or payment fraud. Many sellers find that the convenience, speed, and certainty of a guaranteed cash offer outweighs the potential difference in price.
Collection and Process
Do you collect from my home?
Yes. We offer free collection from your home, workplace, or any other convenient location. You choose the time and place, and our driver comes to you. There is no charge for this service regardless of where you are.
How quickly can you collect?
We typically arrange collection within 24 to 48 hours of you accepting your quote. In many areas, same-day collection may be available depending on scheduling. We work around your availability, including evenings and weekends where possible.
What areas do you cover?
We currently cover London, Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, and Essex, with coverage expanding regularly. Check our locations page for specific towns. If your area is not listed, contact us as we may still be able to help.
What happens during collection?
Our driver carries out a quick inspection to confirm the vehicle matches the details you provided. This usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes. Once everything checks out, we complete the paperwork and transfer payment to your bank account immediately.
Can I drop the car off instead?
Yes. If you prefer to bring the vehicle to us rather than waiting for collection, that can be arranged. Get in touch after accepting your quote and we will confirm a suitable time and location.
Payment
How do I get paid?
We pay by instant bank transfer at the time of collection or handover. You will need to provide your bank details (sort code and account number) when we arrive. Payment is sent directly to your account with no intermediaries.
How quickly does the payment arrive?
Most bank transfers arrive within minutes. Depending on your bank, it may take up to two hours in rare cases. We use Faster Payments, so there are no multi-day waiting periods.
Are there any fees or deductions?
None at all. There are no admin fees, no collection charges, no transaction fees, and no last-minute deductions. The price you agree to is the price you receive. We believe in transparent, straightforward pricing.
Vehicle Conditions
Do you buy damaged cars?
Yes. We buy vehicles with accident damage, cosmetic damage, and mechanical faults. Whether it is a dented bumper or significant structural damage, we will make you an offer. Just be accurate about the condition when requesting your valuation so the price reflects reality.
Do you buy cars without MOT?
Yes. We buy cars that have failed their MOT, have an expired MOT, or have never been tested. There is no legal requirement for a vehicle to have a valid MOT in order to be sold. We handle the logistics from there.
Do you buy cars on finance?
Yes. If you have outstanding HP or PCP finance, we can settle it directly with your lender. If the settlement figure is less than our offer, we pay you the difference. If there is negative equity, we will explain your options clearly before you commit to anything. Read more in our how it works guide.
Do you buy non-runners?
Yes. Engine failure, gearbox problems, electrical faults, or simply a car that will not start. We buy non-runners in any condition and arrange collection with a suitable vehicle. You do not need to worry about getting it to us.
Do you buy vans?
Yes. We buy all types of vans, from small panel vans and car-derived vans to long-wheelbase commercial vehicles, pickups, and chassis cabs. Any make, any age, any condition. Visit our vehicles we buy page for the full list.
Paperwork and Documents
What documents do I need?
Ideally, you should have your V5C logbook (in your name), a valid photo ID, proof of address, your bank details for payment, and all available keys. Service history and MOT certificates are helpful but not essential.
What if I have lost my V5C?
We can still buy your vehicle without a V5C, but additional identity verification may be needed. You can also apply for a replacement V5C from the DVLA, which typically arrives within five working days. We will guide you through the process.
Do you handle the DVLA notification?
Yes. We take care of all DVLA paperwork, including the transfer of ownership notification. You do not need to visit the post office or complete any online forms. Once the sale is done, we handle everything from our end.
